Topic: RE: Liquid Stage Protein Shake Recipes

Thank you so much for posting these recipes but at what stage can I have these? I'm having surgery on 12-29-14, and before when I would do protein shake I always added fruit.

Topic: RE: Homemade SF Jello - No aspartame

We don't have a Whole Foods around here yet. I think they will be building one about 30 miles from me, so when that opens I can't wait to go!

I usually get two 9x13 pans of jello from the batch of Kool-aid.

mix some SF pudding pix in it. If it gets too thick, thin with a little milk. yummy... I used to do 1 small box cheesecake flavor, 1 large container reg. plain yogurt, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1 tsp lemon juice. Yummm. Pistachio pudding mix is fun too.

That is a good idea to use Kool-aid. This must make a lot of Jello. I did find jello with stevia at Whole Foods.

Sorry - also make sure your Isopure is really cold  :-)

Are you able to use a pill splitter on the calcium and take them 1/2 at a time?

For the UNjury chicken soup (it is really yummy) be sure that your water is around 140 otherwise it gets clumpy. I just used a regular cooking thermometer in my water till it got to that temp and it was perfect.

Topic: Homemade SF Jello - No aspartame

I searched high and low for SF jello mixes that do not have aspartame. I couldn't find any, so I decided to make my own. Super easy and you can customize your flavors. If you find the flavor is too much, or not enough, you can reduce or add water to make it to your liking.

Recipe makes 2 batches of 4 cups of jello. These come out more like a jello jiggler (finger jello), which is always fun!

Ingredients:

1 packet sugar free Kool-aid mix (in the small packets)

12 individual packets of Stevia in the Raw (or whatever sweetener you desire)

48-50 oz of water

4 envelopes of Knox Gelatine

 - Mix water, Kool-aid and Stevia

 - Measure 3 cups into a saucepan. Bring to boil.

 - Measure 1 cup (cold) into a bowl (or for easier clean up, pour right into a 9x13 pan). Pour 4 envelopes of Knox Gelatine over cold juice. Let sit for a minute.

 - Pour boiling liquid over Gelatine and whis****il Gelatine is dissolved (about 2-3 minutes).

 - Pour into 9x13 pan and chill for at least 3 hours. Cut into squares.

Voila! You have a flavorful, aspartame free, SF jello! If you don't like Kool-aid, you can substitute any juice, crystal light flavored water, Powerade zero or Gatorade. I haven't tried those, but it would probably work just as well.

Thanks so much for the info.  I plan to get some Isopure ASAP and I went back and looked at the info I got from the hosp when they released me and it did mention Chunky soup.  I put some in the blender and it tasted great.  Soooo much better than plain broth.  Now if I could just find a way to handle the calcium tablets that are the size of a truck tire before you chew them up...I'd be in excellent shape.  All in all, I'm feeling great.  Thanks again for the suggestions.

Topic: RE: Soft Food Stage Recipe - Chicken Tacos

Great Idea.  We do chicken tacos a little different:

3 chicken breasts

1 Jar Salsa

Taco Seasoning (4 tablespoons Penzey's or one envelope store-bought seasoning)

Crock Pot

Just put the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot, pour the salsa over them, and then sprinkle the taco seasoning.  Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8.  When it's done, you can shred it with a wooden spoon.  It's awesome.
