I can sympathize with you.  I've gained appr. 30 lbs. back and am at a loss on what to do to get it back in line.  If you get any good ideas, could you please forward them to me.  I'd really appreciate it.  By the way, good luck with your wedding this summer.  God bless.  My e-mail address is:  [email protected]

thanks,
Annetta

yes,you can just add the dry milk powder to your skim milk. you add 1/3 cup of dry milk to 8 ounces of skim milk.it will still up the cal, sugar and ,carbs. I used to do this and then decided the 8 gms of protein it added weren't worth the 12 gms of carbs it also added, though milk carbs are better then other kinds.

Topic: RE: coffee creamer
Hi Donna. I too have wished for a creamer that didn't make me feel like I was adding garbage to my coffee. I read about a new one coming out that is actually healthy. I don't think its at the stores yet, but I'll keep watching. They have a website called www.rippedcream.com. I read the nutrition information, sounds good and I want to try it. They say "soon".

PS - I too tried the above mentioned "javanu" but you can't put it in hot coffee and it really doesn't taste good. I have high hopes to order the ripped cream one soon and will let you know. :-) Renee

I made this for Christmas brunch.  They were a total hit! I actually made them night before took them out of remaining juice (which was not much) and let them cool on wire rack.  Them put them back in casserole dish and put in fridge.  Warmed them slowly Christmas am and they were perfect.  Kinda crunchy on top but still wet on the bottom.  Everyone LOVED them!

I think the recipe I saw was not to make it with water but to add protien to the milk you already have to boost protien. Any Ideas? would you just substitute the cold milk for the water? Doesn't sound quite right.

Yes,you can do this and yes,it does make the milk more like the 1 and 2 %. the proportions are on the box. For a quart you mix:
3 3/4 cup cold water in a container.
Add 1 1/3 cups dry milk stir to dissolve. chill 2 hours before using.

In case you are watching carbs, etc one cup of reconstituted milk adds 80 cals,12 gms carbs and 12 gms of milk sugar as well as 8 gms of protein.

Good luck,
H

Somewhere during My WLS journey I saw a "recipe" for adding Dry milk powder to skim milk to up the protien. I was wondering what ratio to use. How much per quart? Gallon? Also if you have done this, does it thicken up the milk to make it a little closer to the cosistancy of 1% or 2%?  I have not been able to go to totally skim but can tolerate 1/2% or using 3/4 skim and  1/4 1%. I am just looking for ways to increase protien everywhere.  Thanks.

Ummmmm, am I missing something?  Only protein in two meals.  It is not enough.
