I would check with my doctor & my dietian; Every one's response to soft foods may be different; my go to's have been cottage cheese and yogurts (plain, or sugar free fruit.) I will tell you that anything you choose check the labels; 5-10-15 rule: fat no more than 5 grams of fat, try to find foods with 10 grams or less of sugar, (prevents dumping) 15-20 grams or less of carbs. That has helped me so far. (Down 50 lbs from 265lbs) I had my surgery in April 2015. Good Luck!
Im starting my journey to revision from band. I'm looking for a list of foods we really can't eat after RNY. I really don't know what to expect with regard to lifestyle changes.
Hi All!
I am brand new to this site and tomorrow makes 1 month post op. I have already started the soft foods phase but I feel I am failing miserably! On a good day I am averaging about 540-600 calories but It is extremely hard to drink enough water and also difficult to eat and make sure that what I am eating is protein rich. In the morning I have been doing a Premier Protein shake and adding 1/2 cup Vanilla Soy milk which helps gives me a decent initial boost in protein but going downhill from there.
I say all that to say this...I am tired of eating soups and I know that I can begin to experiment a bit more in this phase, I enjoy all types of fish and ground meats are fine as well (preferably turkey or chicken) I just want to find something that tastes good, has a decent amount of protein and won't kill me to eat. Any help is appreciated and I thank you all in advance!
Thanks!
After I tried these Zucchini Oven Fries, they have become one of my favorite things to make. I don't remember where/who gave me this recipe or I'd give them credit here. They are delicious!
Ingredients:
Zucchini
Egg or Egg Substitute (as much as you'll need to cover the zucchini)
Seasoned breadcrumbs
Cooking spray
Directions:
1. Slice zucchini into 3 inch x 1/2 inch sticks
2. Dip each stick into beaten egg (or egg substitute)
3. Shake in a bag of the seasoned breadcrumbs until lightly coated
4. Place each one on a baking sheet, spritz with cooking spray
5. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes, turning zucchini fries after 15 minutes
