Topic: RE: Breastbone sticking out

the bottom of my sternum sticks out. There's some name for that (which escapes me at the moment) - and I understand it's not all that uncommon among people who have lost massive amounts of weight. I don't have a swallowing problem, though. I think I remember reading that the breast bone protrusion is due to there being a lot of fat underneath it at one time, pushing it out a bit. I don't know if it would be related to your swallowing problem or not...

Question: Does anyone else's breastbone stick out since surgery? I had a hernia repair a year before my sleeve and then repaired again with my sleeve 3/2018 and then repaired again with my rny 7/2018. It's protruding out pretty far and I have still have problems swallowing so I was wondering if they might be related. Thank you ??

Topic: RE: Overstitch Procedure to Possibly Help with Rapid Moving of Food?

Hey there, my surgeons name was Carl Pesta. I am in Michigan. If you look above, there is another thread where someone posted the full formal name of the procedure and that persona had better luck searching for surgeons who did the procideure under that formal name. Let me know if u have any questions. Good luck. Jen

My fear right now is having state insurance. It's through united healthcare but still. I have a doc appt with my primary but not until December 21st. I'm not sure if I should just find a WLS and go directly to them or a GI.

I never did either until around June when it started and got progressively worse. I had 2 stretching sessions each with a week following in the hospital due to an ileus in my intestine. After the last session he went in again to see if it had worked (I told him it hadn't) and he found it had closed up again and I was referred for surgery. I have no idea what kind but hopefully I'll find out what they propose next week. Why this started after 32 years I'll never know.

Topic: RE: Overstitch Revision Info

Thank you so much for sharing the name of the procedure. I've seen 3 docs that advertise revisions but when I saw them in person they said they can't do anything. But I searched the name and found docs that do it as Johns Hopskin. Again, Thank you so much, I"ve been so frustrated, I hope it works for me too.

Thanks!

Hi Jenn, I have been seeing docs for a gastric bypass revision but they keep telling me that there is nothing they can do. Who did you overstitch?

I'm concerned about this for myself bc the past 2 nights I can't seem to get my food to move on either. I immediately have to throw up. I've never had this before. My surgery was also staples and in February it will be 14 years. I have never had any issues with my surgery until now.
