I am happy to hear all these ladies had such a great recovery! mine was not so great. I was in a lot of pain when I woke up from surgery. LOTS. First two days I was regretting even having it!! Hurt to walk and the gas pains WERE SO BAD. I would say on day 9 I started to feel some what myself. Now I am a month out and feel great. I don't regret it, but my recovery seemed to take a while. Went back to work at 2 weeks.
Hi i had mine in 2002 also.Kept weight off for years and then the last three years I have been piling the weight back on.Getting a scope done in a week. Kinda scared of the scope but I feel something is wrong because I am eating way too much food.

are you using any NSAIDS? We are not suppose to take any, ever. Not orally, not in a patch or topical cream/gel.
My stomach is very sensitive and even one pill can cause irritation.

i have a rny from 2001 which had been o****il 2009 when i had the first gastric bleed. Week in the hospital, IV Protonix upper GI, Pillcam and 4 units of blood and they were unable to discover the source of the bleed. Forward to 3rd quarter 2016 another gastric bleed this time stopped on its own but requiring iron infusions x 8 for severe anemia. Spring of 2017 another gastric bleed, week in the hospital, another 4 units of blood, upper GI, Pill cam and double balloon gastroscopy, still no source of bleed. Summer 2018 another week in the hospital, 5 units of blood , upper GI Pillcam, Double balloon gastroscopy. This time they found and cauterized a single bleed point in the excluded stomach and released me into the wild. I desperately want this old excluded stomach removed before it gets another chance to kill me. The previous incidents came without warning, no pain, just collapse on the floor and boom in the hospital needing someone elses blood to live. The RNY was performed because my reflux was no longer being controlled by PPI meds even when combined and doubled. The bleeds happened while on Dexilent with Pepcid twice a day.
Anyone here had the rny old stomach removed or revised to a bpd or ds? I have an appt with a surgeon to see about a revision later this month.
My only advice is to really think about going from band to sleeve. The sleeve is a great surgery, but I have noticed that many who go from band to sleeve end up having to revise again to the bypass due to excessive GERD/heartburn/Reflux.
I couldn't revise to the sleeve due to damage done by the band and also all the heartburn I had from the band. So I ended up getting the bypass which has been amazing.
