There's a huge difference between a pre-op liquid diet and a postop liquid diet also... in one if you goof up the worst that can happen is your surgery gets postponed. In the other, you could have surgical complications ...... it's always best to follow the plan of the person who has had his instruments inside of you slicing and dicing.

I was told NO WAY by my doctor and nurse. And really yogurt and pudding are not liquids.

I'm almost 2 weeks out and I'm on a "full liquid" diet for a month following surgery. Baby food step 1 is allowed only fruit/veggies for me. So I have baby food banana from time to time. No problems so far!

I start the 2 week liquid diet tomorrow - NUT said liquids are things that you drink with a straw and is liquid at room temperature. Some limits, like no more than 1 c juice or 1 c V-8 per day and nothing ridiculously carby. So, for me, no yogurt or pudding but can have s/f ice pops, jello.... Object is to shrink the liver so will be doing TONS of water and protein drinks. Good luck!!
