Is this normal? 5 day post op

How much pain is normal in the first week after surgery? My stomach is constantly in pain- tightness, cramps, nausea. It also just hurts a lot. I'm drinking enough and not eating too much. Is this pain normal? Will I ever feel better?

P.S. I'm scared I might die. Is this a fear others have or should I logically rule it out, now that the surgery went well?

Call your surgeon, only your surgeon can truly allay your fears

I was in a lot of pain for almost two weeks. One night at about 10pm it just went away. I think it was the gas from the surgery that was moving around in my body. One day the pain would be low in my belly, and next it would be in my chest.
I called my surgeon when I had a question, and they were very helpful. Feel better soon!

You should have been given liquid pain meds on leaving the hospital.  Take them.  They don't do you any good in the bottle.

You've had major surgery;  just take it easy.

If you have concerns, talk to your surgeon. 

i am also 5 days post op. i have had really no pain at all. i still take the pain meds to sleep but thats about it. i think u might want to call your surgeon. im not sure how everyone feels after surgery. but mine has been great. no regrets so far. i hope you get to feeling better.
