traveling??? how soon after rny could you do 1-2 hour car rides??
My surgeon is 1.5 hrs away so first road trip was when I was d/c from the hospital and it was NOT FUN. First willing trip of about an hour was 2 weeks out.

My surgery was in Savannah a little over an hour away from my house. I had surgery on Tuesday and rode home on Friday with no problems.
In our Bariatric manual it says to get out of the car every hour or so and walk around to help circulation and prevent blood clots from forming!

I also live 1.5 hours away from my surgeon/hospital. Plan for delays (traffic, weather etc). When I was d/c from the hospital I was stuck in a traffic accident delay for an additional 1.5. My surgeon just cautioned to stop every 20-30 minutes to walk about a bit to keep from forming blood clots.

I did a three hour car ride home the day after surgery. A little over 24 hours - maybe 30 hours.
