I just got home from my surgery. Somehow in my class and discharge I have not figured out the size of my liquid diet for week one. Does 4oz sound about right.

Do you mean four ounces of liquid at one time?  Sure, that's fine.  You can drink as much as you want as fast as you want, as long as it's not causing you discomfort.  You need at least 64 ounces total per day.

All doctors are different but mine is as follows:
During waking hours I am suspose to drink:
3 ounces of protein and 1 ounce of water every hour. sipping
This is for the first two weeks, then go to puree stage for 2 weeks to 3 months.
