The one and only protein powder I like is not in my monthly budget for a couple of months.  I still have a hard time hitting my protein goals without them.  Can anyone suggest some good alternatives that won't add a lot of calories to my daily intake?

The large cans run about $40.  I love it because it doesn't have that fake sweet smell and it has really good stats per scoop.  It also mixes well with hot drinks.  I put it in my chai latte, coffee, and hot cocoa.  The chocolate one is good too but if I buy the vanilla I can mix it in almost anything.  I haven't tried the strawberry.  Seems like it'd be too limiting in flavors.  I really wish they'd come out with an unflavored one.

I can't remember how much I pay, but in a short time your diet will replace some of the protein powder.  So the expense may not be all that much if you really like it you will more likely use it as often as you need to.  Otherwise you might skip it.  At least I would.
