Y'know, whenever I have to fast for a religious observance, there's always one huge rule of thumb. Don't talk about fasting. Don't talk about food. Don't talk about being hungry.
The more you talk about it, the more you'll think about it. And the more you think about it, the more miserable you'll be.
Go find something to do that will really keep you occupied. Got a couple places in your house that you've been meaning to clean out, but haven't gotten around to it? Go get 'er done. Plus, you'll have a nice clean house when you come home from surgery.
If you're at work and people are torturing you with their lunch smells, make something liquid that smells amazing (perhaps some fragrant soup?) and go take a walk while you sip and enjoy your soup.
Keeping busy and keeping your mind on things OTHER than your diet will help enormously. Good luck, keep going, you totally got this.

I'm right there with you sister! I just started on week two. I don't have a date yet....but my surgeon has me on 2 shakes and one meal a day too. I have been having 2 small snacks in between. The first week was disastrous. I went out and joined the gym, for me...I felt like that was getting me further (I have to lose 20 lbs before they'll submit to my ins company). I found that being able to snack makes me get through. By snacking I mean eating a cup of cucumbers or a cup of broccoli, and then half a banana, or a peach. You can make it a little more satisfying if you use your one fruit to put in a shake. So simple...this morning I used one scoop vanilla protein powder (20g protein), 3/4 cup vanilla soymilk, 1/2 cup strawberries. Over the weekend I mixed my chocolate muscle milk light with 1/2 a banana (I woke up late, so this was breakfast and snack). Try sipping very slowly like you will post op...I find that makes me fuller longer. Focus on the GOAL...you have a date! That's something to be really excited about. I think that'll take your mind off the hunger!

It's no fun when you're in the thick of it, but in about a month, the pre-op and initial post-op stuff will seem like a distant memory.
Just keep telling yourself that the diet you're on right now is shrinking your liver so that your surgery will go smoother...I had to be on strict liquids (my doc's preference) for the 2 weeks leading up to surgery and no one told me the reasoning behind it. Knowing that you're doing your part to help the surgeon do his/her best job might make it easier for you. Yes?
Hang it there...it's going to be SO worth it!
I'm on Day 2 of my liquid diet, and I don't even get any type of food or fruit! You are lucky! Just 3 nasty protein shakes a day and a ton of low calorie liquids..yesterday was pure hell and I cheated a little, but between then and today I already lost 3.5 lbs which is absolutely unbelieveable to me..I had to weigh myself a few times to be sure. Today is already much easier and those hunger pains are gone and I feel like I can function...it will get easier for you too! I have no desire today to eat any food and am satisfied by my liquids. I am taking it day by day as well and just counting down the days until surgery (March 12!) and trying to keep myself occupied. What really really helped me was looking at before/after pics on here and reading people's stories. It is such a huge motivator and so inspirational and it makes me feel all that more dedicated to #1. Not cheat and #2. Realize this will all be worth it for the end result. Hang in there! :)
