Still getting accustomed to the new configuration...

...of my insides.

Since I've been home, I've arranged the pillows on my side of the bed to allow me to sleep in an upright position with knees elevated as similar to my sleeping position for the time I was in the hospital, recovering.

Last night, I thought that I would modify the pillows somewhat so that I was somewhat more prone but with knees still elevated.

I woke at 4 am with a feeling of slight pain (more pressure, really) coming from my left side just about where one would expect to find the kidney and a similar feeling in the front of my abdomen...

Fatalist that I am, I immediately began to think that I'm feeling the onset of kidney stones and a bowel obstruction...but with having relieved my bladder, a couple more hours of rest and a bowel movement, all is now well...(think Woody Allen's character in the film, "Hannah and Her Sisters" when he receives the news from his doctor that his mole is not cancerous).

I used lay on one side or the other when I slept, but doing that hurts, now, so I sleep "on my back" so to speak.

Learning new things all the time! Every day!

That's funny !!
I am doing about the same thing. We have an adjustable bed so I sleep like I am in a recliner with large body pillows on either side of me so I CAN't move , it is helpful for my knees and hip. BUT the slightest discomfort anywhere and I am wondering what is going on inside me. I am more curious NOW about what the surgery did than I was before the surgery.
Like I now know that I was bypassed 150 cm and that is aprox. 4'11''.......
I am sure the further out we get that we will calm down !!

OMG!!

I would SO love an adjustable bed...I'm an old fart, now, so I have no reservations about getting a Craftmatic adjustable bed...my wife likely has reservations since she is still young (she's 10 years my junior).

The adjustable beds aren't just for us oldies anymore  !! DO NOT get a memorie foam , that is what we originally bought and after about 5 years of suffering with it we went to sleep # air mattress's.
Only issue we have is the crease in the middle, dual control king is 2 x-tra long twins side by side...chalenging in the sex department...just sayin
you would be shocked at how many younger couples have adjustable beds!!! , comfort is KING

That is the only real concern I have with the Sleep Number bed...we're both accustomed to the area of a queen size at the very least...when we stay in a hotel we always get a king...and we love it...

Maybe I'll start lobbying (in a subtle way) for that Craftmatic adjustable...
