what a difference a day makes

I am 4 days post op and all I can say is wow.  What a difference a day makes in recovery.  I have had several surgeries in my life and this one by far is so different than all the others.  I had a really crappy 3 days and then I woke up today and (get ready tmi) I farted.  I was sooo happy that I cheered.  My pain is really going away now and my energy level is better.  I should also say that I took a se##kot this afternoon, chewed it, yuck, but it wasn't horrible.  I am hoping for a BM tomorrow. Things are really looking up!   The only thing bugging me is the drain.  I am hoping the surgeon will take it out on wednesday.  Hang in there newbies...It's amazing what a difference a day makes!!!

I totall agree with you.  6 days post op for me and yes, the sound of a fart is wonderful.  I didn't have a
BM yesterday but the day before was good.  So far today, nothing, but a lot of singing down there.  Best of luck to you.......
