If this is your attitude about exercize then read this article.

The author makes the valid point that no matter what you do you should enjoy it.  That doesn't mean make it easy but it doesn't have to be miserable. While some of us may appear to live in the gym I know for me I don't kill myself, I push hard and give it 110% (Shout out to Lou F. on Celebrity Apprentice) but I always walk away feeling good about what I have just done.

I had to do a double take on this post and thought you were saying that yourself! I thought oh no he got hurt! Glad to see that isn't the care. Trust me peeps if you go one or two times you will find that you have a great feeling and yearn for that feeling again. It is addictive!

ha ha ha, the 110% thing cracked me up on Celebrity Apprentice. It is my husband's pet peeve. Mathematically 100% is all you can do!

So you really ENJOY those brutal spin classes, Paul?

I bet you like your wife to whip you in bed too, don't you? Mmmhmmm...I knew it!

As for spin classes I can tell the difference they make.  Last year I got on a bike and was beat after 4 miles.  and could barely walk afterwards.  For my birthday I rode 43 miles with no issue.  On the flats my speed is better I can pedal longer than I thought possible.  I think having spin classes that are focused at a specific type of workout AT intervals/Endurance/Speed play really has made a difference for me.  Yeah they are brutual but you walk out of every class knowing that you gave everything you had.

I think everyone should try 1.

I also looked at this post, and was surprised at the title coming from you.  You've been someone who I look up to as a role model, and continue to emulate.

I go to the gym, and when I get there, I typically don't think I'll make it through my workout, but then I get started, and the endorphins kick in, so I do more than I think I could when I got there!

I've just started working out and it's the first time in YEARS!!!  I started at the YMCA and decided to take it easy to begin with so I started on the machines and a little walking.  I started with what I thought was a low weight on all the machines and did my 8-12 reps.  I'm not as strong as I thought I was!

Going to add swimming to the mix and shooting some hoops with my boys.  I'm thrilled to be back in the gym!!
