Do you ever go back on protein drinks?

I had one post surgery. (I'm 5 days out). for the protein and vitamines.
I wouldn't get skin removal until I've stabilized my weight loss, Unless there are health issues.
I didn't like the protein shakes for weight loss, I preferred weigh****chers.

I have them occasionally. But if I understand you correctly you are asking about going strictly to protein shakes? The answer to that is no. I won't go back on a rigid diet to lose weight when I have a tool that will work if I use it. Just go back to protein first, no white bread/rice/pasta/potatoes; make sure you are NOT drinking with or following meals; move /exercise as you are able.
I'm 4 years out and have 2 protein supplements daily. My surgeon told me I would need 2/day for the rest of my life in order to get in he necessary grams of protein daily.
Personally, I'm not sure I could do just protein drinks for any length of time. I did it for 2 weeks prior to surgery, but I had no choice and it was a struggle.
My advice is to have 2, maybe 3 shakes a day, but also have at least one meal. Keep the carbs low, very low.
I was on Prednisone for a week and gained 4 lbs. but it came right off once I stopped the med.

I add protein powder to my SF hot chocolate each morning (in lieu of coffee) just to be sure I get enough protein without having to be ultra strict about what I eat the rest of the day, but -- at 5 years out -- I do NOT go back to shakes as a replacement for food. Number one, I don't like them except for occasional meal replacements when eating is problematic, and number two, I find that I am better off going back to eating basics to drop some weight when it creeps up than going back to a shake "diet" mentality.
By increasing my protein and water, and eliminating all non-dairy carbs (quite a but fo my protein comes from dairy, so I cannot eliminate all of those carbs) I reinforce the healthy habits that I know will continue to serve me well rather than reinforcing the idea of going back to "dieting" (which never worked in the first place, and often led to that diet-deprivation-GAIN cycle).

No, I don't. I would feel hungry if I only had liquids. I would prefer to eat dense protein that helps me feel full longer.
