What to do with my too-big clothes????

I've been taking some of my better quality too-big clothing to a local consignment shop, but frankly I find it sort of insulting when they don't want some of them.  Apparently they take nothing over size 22 (and i've got 24s) and their taste appears to be rather different from mine (of course, I think I have great taste!).

I bring stuff which is not in such great shape to Goodwill.

But I'm wondering if anyone has other ideas about how some of the really quite nice, good quality clothing might be put to better use?  I'd love to get a bit of money for some of the stuff, but I'm more interested in them being useful to someone.  We're talking things like Evan Picone or Jones NY summer khaki slacks, Coldwater Creek cotton/silk shells (some never worn!), Carol LIttle white rayon soft slacks and matching sheer, embroidered blouse.   Some of this stuff I ALMOST wish I hadn't shrunk out of!

You could try selling it in lots on ebay.  You could have a garage sale.  Or you could try Freecycle (to just give it away).  I just took all mine to Goodwill to get it out of my way and for the tax deductions.

Really? Nothing over size 22? I tried to consign at a large-size shop and they took nothing under a 24. That was when I had just outgrown 22s. A lot of fat under the bridge since then!

I took my kajillions of big office-type clothes to a local animal shelter charity shop, and they were glad to have them. I've taken loads of nice but outdated (shoulder pads!) clothes to the women's shelter, and they were glad to get them. I didn't want to hassle with selling them. One thing for sure, I'm getting rid of them as I outgrow them, even the items I cherish.

We have a womans/childrens shelter here that I gave all my clothes too and they were really grateful. Made a nice tax write off too.

The ones I have grown out of so far I have sold on CL and I also did a donate pile of things that weren't 100% but still in good condition.
I plan on trying to sell them as I lose weight and what doesn't sell will be donated.
