Who had Surgery around Sept 20, 2011?  How are you doing with your weight lost? What type of  food do you eat? How much have you lost?  I only ask these questions because I'm about 10 months out and have lost 105 pounds, I'm not sure if i'm doing good or not and I no longer have insurance so I don't know where i'm suppose to be at .

Are you kidding......Whooo hoooo....over 100 pounds in less than a year! Great job!! Sorry about the insurance. My understanding according to all that I read and the doc is 100 in a year is a goal. After that, it's up to us to maintain or go further.

From what I understand, there is no standard against which to constructively compare your weight loss...I, myself, have lost just a little over 40 lbs in 3.5 months...I've heard of others who hit the 100-lb mark 1 to 2 years after surgery...
Weight at Heaviest: 320 lbs.
Weight at Surgery:
283.6 lbs.

Hey!!! I'm right with you!! I had surgery September 27 2011.  I've lost right around 100 pounds too.  I eat normal stuff I guess.  I try to focus mainly on protein and work around that.  My weight loss has slowed downed dramatically.  It's only like a pound a week if I'm lucky.  Not sure if it's stalled or what.

I am 15 months out and have lost 112 pounds since surgeon consult, 87 since surgery and I wasnt a light weight, You cant compare to others as our bodies all do their own thing.

We started at different weights but I've been out 10 1/2 months. I had some long stalls but picked up the pace a couple of months ago. I think a gradual loss and continual adjustment to my nutritional needs has been helpful.

The OH weight loss planner is a good place to see what they think is "average" but remember we are all different. This gave me a pretty accurate representation of my loss...

My surgery was Oct. 10, 2011 I am quickly approaching 43 weeks post op. My weight loss to date is 121 lbs. and I am thrilled by the progress thus far. Remember your journey is your own when i started thinking of others and that i was behind or doing not as well I became very discouraged. So I personally am trying very hard to focus on how I feel and other Great non scale victories to complete my weight loss picture.
