Two years out...eating to much??

Well I am almost two years out and am about 8 lbs away from goal.  The weight did not fall off me like it did others but I am happy with the way it worked out.  Things really kicked into gear for me when I started working out with a trainer and lifting weights.  Overall it has been a really great experience.  I'm down to a healthy size 4 and feel better then ever.  My question is one of my favorite things to eat is an egg beaters omelet (4oz), 2 oz of lean ground turkey, and 2 oz of pinto beans with salsa.  It is yummy!!  As you can see it is more then the 4oz recommended but I work out quite a bit and feel I need a little extra.  I can eat it with no problem.  Does anyone think this is  a problem?  Also I recently started taking fish oil.  Do you know if we absorb that or do I need to take double??  Thanks in advance for your response.

Did someone recommend you only eat four ounces at a time at two years out?  I think most people are eating about eight ounces at that point.  I don't think what you're describing is too much.

I think that almost everyone who is 2 or more years out east MUCH more than 4 ounces at a meal. Most people eat a cup or a cup and a half at each meal by the time they are that far out! I assume that this is a guideline that your surgeon gave you. How are you able to get enough calories and protein still eating only 4 ounces at a meal?

You will absorb some of the fish oil but not all of it. I personally take a double dose.

at a year to 18 months many of us eat a cup to a cup and a half per meal. i know i can eat enough that people don't look at me funny anymore when eating in public.

as far as i know we don't absorb oils well, not sure if you would need to double it or what the recommended rny dose of it is.

It was my doctors recommendation to eat 1/2 cup of food per meal so I have always kind of tried to stick with that although there were times I would go over.  When I go over I'm surprised how I am able to do it quite easily.  I eat clean most days of the week but I allow myself a cheat meal one a week.  Well last week my cheat meal was a breakfast taco (1) at this local restaurant and I ate the whole darn thing including the tortilla!  I was like what the hell??!!  I practically inhaled the darn thing.  Anyway I do think you all have a point.  I have been a super slow looser and I think it might be because I restrict myself too much for the exercise I do and such.  I am trying to find balance.  I realized I am still in diet mode and need to find a way to start adding some more variety and a little more food to my diet.  Thanks for your responses!!

I got to goal at 29 months. I had two spurts of losing weight, BOTH followed UPPING my calories. My surgeon recommended 4 oz at 6 months out, working up to 8 oz meals by 18 months for life.

My meals are generally 1 cup, sometimes more when there are leafy greens or foods that aren't dense.

I live like a normal human most of the time. I do splurge once in a while.. Only for me, I can't splurge on carbs or I have a reactive hypoglycemic attack.

If you're only eating 1/2 cup per meal your calories are probably lower than you need them to be and that be why you have not lost as quickly.  I'd be willing to bet upping your intake would help.

I am over 4 years out and I can eat quite a bit of food, for example, last night for dinner I had a sloppy joe on a bun and about 1/4 cup green beans. I didn't feel over full at all And I could eat that much at 2 years out as well.

Who in the world recommended 4 oz at 2 years out?  That's insanity, unless you are eating every hour or hour and a half.  I would say you are pretty much on par with what I am able to eat.  I can eat about a cup to a cup and a half depending on the type of food.  Dense protein, about 3 ounces.  I could probably eat about 3/4 of that omelet and be perfectly content.
