I want to break up with my surgeon
\I remember Dr. Villarez' issues way back then, and I chose not to stick with him because of certain legal hassles he had to deal with.
Dr. Schlesinger has had some legal issues too, yes?
All that said, I was happy enough with Dr. J. But I haven't been back since 18 months postoop. They keep sending me letters, but I ignore them. If something goes wrong, perhaps I'll visit again. But mostly, I don't see the point of visiting. When I had surgery it was $15 for an office visit with a specialist, now it's $35 and I often have to wait HOURS to see him. I don't want to drive 100 miles round trip to meet him and say "yeah all is well" and then turn around and drive home again. Also it wouldn't surprise me if Dr. J isn't all that het up to see me, since a little bit of office politics meant that one of his departing officce poeple made it impossible for Dr. J. to be paid for doing my surgery. They probably don't want me back.

I chased my dreams, and my dreams, they caught me!

I don't think you need a bariatric surgeon for followup. My surgeon recently closed her practice, so I will just have my PCP draw my labs each year. He has already been getting copies of them for teh past 5 years, anyway, and reviewing any marginal levels with me. If you develop a problem that requires a baraitric surgeon, THEN you can seek one out.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
