Good food tracker/journal needed

I have to turn in one month of daily intake to the nutritionist Thursday.  Instead of doing my own excel spread sheet like I did last month which was so tedious and time consuming I need to find a good PRINTABLE food tracker/journal.  I know there are many but I want one where I can edit the calories and portions myself.  For instance I use Gladiator whey isolate protein powder.  One scoop is 95 calories and 22.5 g. protein and 0 sugar.  It is on the nutrition facts on the tub but when I go to these trackers they ask for teaspoons or tablespoons and the calories are always in the hundreds.  I need to put in what I use.  Also on meat I ate 3 ozs of turkey.  These trackers arbitrarily tell me 4 ozs and I ate 3.  It won't let me change it to 3.  Very frustrating.  Am I looking for an animal they don't make.  Also some of them want you to join and ask 1,000 questions.  I am just trying to speed the process.  I know it is out there  -  as usual I just can't find the darned thing.  And I hate Excel.

I use MyFitnessPal.com and it works for me. You may have to convert cups to ounces or from like in your example of your eat 2 oz not 3 but you can do the math to do the conversion. I do not know how you change the calories, but calories of things is pretty much canned. That program has a very big library of foods. Almost any food you can think of is already there. Even things found in cookbooks. You can print a report and take it to your NUT for any period of time you want. I take it to my NUT and surgeon when I have appointment. Almost everyone in my family use it and even those who do not need WLS use it to maintain their weight or lose weight. I use it to track my exercise as well and some even list their meds in it. I have looked at most of the others and in my opinion MFP is the best by far and you can do it on your phone as there is an app for it on the Apple store.

www.myfitnesspal.com  You can put your own foods/amounts in.  Most foods are already in their database.  They also have a mobile app.  If you use a desktop computer, you can print your myfitnesspal reports from your web browser.  If you eat 3 oz of turkey & serving size they have is 4 oz, you can put in .75 of a serving & it will calculate it for you.  Then  you can actually save it to your "meals" so that you dont have to recalculate it every time you have 3 oz of turkey, etc.  It really is the easiet, best food, nutrition, exercise & water tracker.  You can also use it on the go with your phone app.  It takes literally seconds to update & the best part is that it is FREE!  :)

Well I can do the math but how do you change or edit the numbers for a correct accounting to my NUT? I spent 2 days with a calculator and Excel last month doing math on calories and protein and now she wants carbs. Sugar will follow. My handwriting is chicken scratch so I need to type. If I am in for a lifetime of accountability, which I want, I need a Plan Stan. I know it is out there.

What about the protein. 2 scoops 190 calories, 45 protein, 0 sugar. How do you put on your own numbers?

I use an app called "Lose It". IMHO, it is the best free app that you can use on the computer, phone, NOOK or other portable device. I love it cause I can add/edit/change/make my own recipes and calculate the nutritional information easily. I do not have  smart phone but use it on my nook and take it everywhere. I can also add all my vitamins/medicines and log them also. It keeps me on track. I know there are lots of apps out there (and some of them cost you money to download them) but this is the best for my money, since it is free....and free is good!. When I go to my appts, I just hand my nutritionist my nook and they look back as far as they want. It also tracks nutrition by the day or week and I love that. Just in case I've had a bad protein day, I can still look and see what the average for the week is.

I used to use mycaloriecounter.com and would make my own "add food" I think this site also has the same ability. You could copy and paste into excel or word when you you need to print it out.

You can either put it in yourself - as a new item or ...

work in fractions - your turkey is 3/4 of a 4oz portion etc!

I have been using the one on here, and recently changed to myfitnesspall.com and really like it. Hope this helps.

I just went to MFP and found Gladiator Whey Protein Isolate in vanilla flavor. This is what it listed for you.

102 calories

2 carbs

0 Fats

23 Protein

1 Sugar

Now it list things so that you can calculate by scoop or parts of scoops. Almost any food you want is listed like this and if that is not good enough you can make up your own food and call it Your Gladiator and put in anything you want from the label of any food. Then when you have it, it is only one click away. Can anything be easier than that? I hope this helps. Like I said I have looked at and used for a time most of the rest and this is the best.
