Just wondering about weighing myself . When is the best time? How often? Clothes or no clothes?

I weigh in the morning after I get up before shower, pjs on. I only weigh every 3-4 days. No set schedule just every few days. I did not want to get into the habit of every day as weight fluctuations can be frustrating.

Listen closely: the only time it's too late to change yourself is when you're dead. Until then, you're simply making excuses or lying to yourself. HW 350 SW 324  SD10/19/12

i weigh once a week (saturdays usually), in the morning before i shower.    i find mornings are best and most 'accurate'.  important to be consistent though.

I was told that it did not matter what time of day as long I was constant in the time of day. Most people's weight fluxing during the day as much as 5lbs.  I weigh myself first thing in the AM and without clothing.

i disagree with this.  once a person starts eating and drinking for the day, the normal fluctuation is going to vary so much.  i could weigh at night before bed every day, but unless i eat the exact thing for dinner at the exact same time every day, it's not going to be as accurate as first thing in the morning.

I weigh every other week on Mondays on a digital scale at between 5 and 5:30 AM. With only my shorts on. When you weigh each day you are setting yourself up for depression in my opinion, when you don't lose each day, which is not going to happen. When I first started this journey I weighed once a week but as the wight is coming off slower now, I do it every other week. When I get closer to goal, I will do it just once a month. As I said many times, weight loss is just a byproduct of this process. We are supposed to be learning how to live and eat to live for the rest of our lives, forsaking old bad habits and developing new good habits. Just stop thinking about your weight loss so much it is not the only thing we are to work on after surgery.

I weigh daily..after going to the restroom..and naked. If your going to weigh daily you need to be prepared for disappointment...you are not going to lose weight everyday and there will be WEEKS where you don't lose anything. If you can't mentally handle that...do not weigh everyday!

Every day.. First thing in the morning. I don't care if the scale goes up or down. I want to see the number. It has stayed the same for about three weeks and then last week I lost 2 pounds.. I am trying to maintain. Never thought I would utter the words " I don't want to lose anymore weight" but here I am
