What would you like to know about vitamins?
I'm gonna refer you to an article I did not long ago on iron: http://voices.yahoo.com/iron-supplements-weight-loss-surgery -patients-12156003.html?cat=51
My ferritin (iron storage) is super low at the moment, too. How much of the ferrous sulfate are you taking? 324 mg ferrous sulfate is not really much iron - it's only about 65 mg elemental iron. How much of the tender iron were you taking? did you try just increasing that (and taking it real regularly)?
I take carbonyl iron, which is what the tender iron is although that's not the brand I've been using, and I was taking 75 mg a day and I upped that to 300 mg.

I actually take the prescription iron 3x a day, which is a mess with calcium 3x a day as well as having to space out my thyroid meds from vitamins. Sheesh.
I am making sure I Take the tender iron every single day now, guaranteed. Same way I had to learn the hard way about skipping b1 and b12, I won't mistake on my iron anymore!
Just my own research. Well, also some help from some very, very knowledgable people, including Michelle (vitalady) and Andrea (wlsvitagarten.com).

I know that beta carotene has to be converted to something else (like D2 has to be converted to D3) and that we don't absorb the beta carotene well, but I'm not sure that I ever heard WHY. Is this a lack of acid thing?

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Beta carotene gets converted to vitamin A, and yes, you need lots of stomach acid to break it down for absorption.

I take all mine with food. The August issue of the Bariatric Foodie newsletter will have a couple sample vitamin schedules (one for if your multi has iron and one for if your multi doesn't).
