Successful EGD today
EGD went well this morining. I was right and I had a stricture (and another hiatal hernia - they just fixed one when I had my initial surgery on 8/1/13). They stretched that baby out...I haven't eaten yet, tho, since I had to take a huge 4 hour nap when I got home ;) They have put me on Carafate to coat my stomach before I eat. My throat hurts pretty badly. But I'm hoping to feel so much better tomorrow and be able to eat and drink without so much discomfort and pain.

HW333--SW 289--GW of 160 5' 11" woman. I only know the way I know & when you ask for input/advice, you'll get the way I've been successful through my surgeon & nutritionist. Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
I am so glad they were able to stretch you stricture. I just wanted you to know not to be disappointed if they have to do this more than once or twice. It is common after you have a stricture to need dilated a couple times before it stays open. Just be patient. I had to have it a total of 5 times (not exactly normal but....) so I know I would have been more prepared if someone had told me you may need this several times. It is ALL worth it in the end!!!!!
