This Is Where It Gets Tough - New Low

All the times in the past when I have successfully worked extremely hard and managed to get to this exact weight (156), I had panicked over the three month stall I alway**** here, and threw in the towel.  I’m in it again now… but THIS TIME IT HAS TO BE DIFFERENT! First, I know this for what it is, a pause; I will eventually start losing again as long as I stick with it.

Second, I don’t mind the pause so much this time, because I am so loving my thinner body AND I still have a great tool in the RNY, for which I am truly grateful. Third, I am so busy and active who has time to fret over numbers. Fourth, I have support this time instead of going it alone - and that’s where you all come in!!!  And finally, I am not going to freak out and decide it’s not worth being thinner when I realize that people 'see' me now.  It’s okay to be seen, I don’t really have any reason to cringe and hide any more.  I’m a quiet person but that no longer has to translate into timid.  Yep, I’m going to do it this time.  Thanks all, for being here!

Congrats on your success, you look beautiful and healthy.  Just curious, how tall are you?  I am 5'6" and my original goal is 155 which will be a Healthy BMI for my height.

I'm 5' 4.5"  i chose the weight my mother was and added 10 lbs.  All the women in my family are small except for my sisters and me, so I'm aiming a little higher than the weights of my cousins and aunts.  Funny thing is that I'm only into about a size 14 now; it amazes me to read people who weigh 20 or 30 lb more than I but are in 4s and 6s but I am thinking they must be a lot taller.  Have to say that I love seeing a 14 on me (almost ready to go to a 12) and there is no "W" in the size LOL!

You're doing great.  Isn't it a great feeling when you enjoy your new clothes and they make you feel good when you go out.  Try not to focus so much on an exact weight goal and take it as it comes.  It will come and if you concentrate on your new life style and go right into maintenance you will more likely keep it off.  Good luck in the future.

Sounds like you're doing great Susan.  Keep up the good work and stay active and you'll be 125 before you know it.

125 might be a little unrealistic. NOT JUDGING. I'm 5'4 and first picked 130 because that's what my sister-in-law weighs and we're the same height. She's healthy without being too skinny. Someone my height posted a pic of herself at 150 and looked fabulous. That's what I'm aiming for now. My surgeon doesn't care about numbers. He just wants us to get healthy. I've also heard that we have denser bones because it's needed to carry all the weight that we carried. I have no idea if that changes post-op.

Hi Susan!  Congrats!! You are almost there! We are the same height and have the same goal. I am not sure if I can get that low.....we will see. I play the same number head games and try to remind myself not to worry too! You are about 6 months ahead of me. Thanks for sharing and being an inspiration.
