What's on the menu today, RNY-ers?
Good morning, OH friends!
Love love love seeing your menus. Keep 'em coming!
Time since surgery: 7 weeks, 4 days
B: 2 oz Boar's Head deli turkey, 1 oz Brie cheese. I had more on the plate but got full. It really varies - sometimes I am stuffed after 2 oz and other times I feel like I could eat 5 oz (but don't let myself)
L: The never-ending turkey chili (99% fat free turkey, peppers and onions and jalapeño, tomato sauce, tomato paste, chili seasoning)
S: A weigh****chers jalapeño cheese stick
D: something high in protein with no carbs. Maybe shrimp.
E: Did 35 minutes on the treadmill at 3.0
V: I keep forgetting-being out of town is really messing with my routine
Brings me to 410 calories with 15 g fat, 21 g carbs, 45 g of protein-not including dinner
Ok, now share your meal ideas and recipes! And today is "throwback Thursday" so I think it's a good day to think back to how you looked a month ago, two months ago, six months ago, a year ago! I am less than two months out and see a dramatic difference :)
I always read these posts, but usually don't post, so here goes. . . I am 13 months out, down 125 pounds
B: Premier Protein Shake
S: Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt (cherry-chocolate/new flavor!)
L: lean ground beef in marinara sauce
S: Zone Perfect protein bar
D: ribs in bbq sauce
S: pistachios
calories = 928, protein = 92, good on vitamins and water, rest day for exercise
I'm glad you decided to post and please continue to do so :) I look at someone like you, a little over a year out, phenomenal weight loss, and it helps guide my food choices and see what a menu may look like for me in a year. Plans vary greatly, as do people's use of shakes, and the number of carbs people allow, so it's awesome for people like me to see a success story and emulate your menus :) Thanks for sharing! And way to kick ass on protein!
I'm about 5 months out. I'm eating 700-1000 calories per day, 50-90 grams protein, and carbs are generally under 50, with a few days going way over. Control is so much better when I keep it under 50. So is planning out the day in the morning.
B: 1/4 cup milk in coffee, 1/4 C egg beaters with spinach and 2T shredded cheese
L: 2 oz rib eye steak
S: Greek yogurt
D: Pan seared flounder, 4.5 oz, steamed broccoli, 1/4 cup
S: blueberries - Yum!

Good to hear about your normal counts! I am a few months behind you but will likely be similar to you. I also need to shop, plan, prepare and weigh good for the week. It's KEY. I also try to do under 20 g of carbs for the day. My turkey chili has really been throwing that off. Carbs are my devil :(
I'm normally around 600 calories now, always at or above 60 g of protein (usually close to 65 and never 80 or 90 though I'm going to talk to my NUT next week and see if I should increase calories in order to get more protein in). V is vitamins :)
