Approved!!

Did not think it would happen. Insurance did not approve the first attempt, but after clarifying the paperwork, bam, approved!! So excited! Doctors office is supposed to call next week to set the surgery date. I was so excited talking to the insurance company lady, she started getting very excited for me!! Anyone waiting, hang in there, it will happen!

Super excited for you!!!  I'm waiting as well, hopefully I will hear soon as well!  So answer me some questions.  What sort of insurance do you have?  When was it submitted?  How long did you take to get the no the last time?  what clarification did they need?

I also was approved today too, waiting to hear for my surgeons office, CONGRADUATIONS!!!

Thank you guys!! To answer a couple questions asked, the paperwork was submitted on April 13th to BCBS Alabama. A week later they denied the claim. Worst day ever. They stated that I did not complete 6 months of SUPERVISED weight loss with a doctor. I did see a NUT each month for 6 months. So to clarify the paperwork, the doctor that oversees the NUT appointments and keeps track of everything had to sign off on all the notes and stuff from the NUT to prove that it was supervised. The paperwork was resent on May 12th, reopened case on May 14th and decision came this morning. Hopefully things will go smoothly for others!! To the other poster that got a decision today also, whoop whoop!!! Thought waiting for the decision from insurance was bad, now have to wait for the doctors office to call, nail biter!! Has anyone else had their life on hold waiting for a decision?? There are so many things my family want to do this summer but can not schedule anything till we have a date for surgery. So irritating, but worth it in the end ☺

Congrats. I just got my approval on the 19th also and waiting for surgery date.
