What's on your Tuesday menu, RNYers?
Back to answer the QOTD: I haven't worn shorts since middle school, and probably still won't even when I reach goal because my thigh skin is already atrocious (and I still want to lose another 90-100 lbs). I'm also beginning to be self conscious about my arms, though I wasn't at my highest weight when they were also big--I guess they looked more normal to me filled with fat.

Good Morning! Thanks for starting us out. I am in vacation prep mode! Even though I am here through Friday I have a few projects I am in the middle of that I would like to get done so I have locked myself up in one of our spare offices for the next few days which will also make conference calls and stuff easier to deal with.

I hear ya Kelly! Swimming does wonders for my state if mind! I wish I could get to the pool more often but the YMCA pool schedule does not agree with my work schedule. For the amount of money I pay for membership I would love for the schedule to be more flexible but they always have other things going on such as exercise class, swim team, swim lessons, lifeguard class etc...

morning everyone.
I fell asleep pretty early last night and it was glorious! I slept a full 8 hours and I haven't been getting enough sleep lately so it was pretty nice.
I took DH's car to work this morning because I noticed after I picked up my car on Sunday, they never put a new oil change sticker on the windshield AND the tire pressure light was still on...which I specifically asked them to fill the tires and they said they would...so now I am even wondering if they DID the oil change at all...obviously they didn't do the full service like I requested (checking tires/fluids, etc) so DH said he would bring it in today and have them check it all over again since he has the day off. he's so good to me. he actually went to the store and bought me a pair of tights last week because I was already in my PJ's and wanted to wear a dress the next day. I thought that was the sweetest...trying to sort through the women's underwear department to find me the right thing LOL...I do love him.
QOTD: I never wore shorts for the majority of my adult life unless it was absolutely unbearable heat (like over 95 degrees? and even then I only wore bermuda shorts to my knees...mostly I stuck to capri's because my thighs rubbed together so much and caused a lot of discomfort...and the shorts rode up in the middle which was just embarassing. I used to also need to wear bike shorts under skirts and dresses or I would get terrible chafing but I don't need to anymore and that is a huge NSV for me because i love wearing dresses and skirts!
I bought my first pair of mid-thigh shorts this summer and got some hand me downs from a friend too...I still don't think I will ever wear shorts that are shorter than mid-thigh because of the skin but it's sort of nice to have more options!
B: coffee w/sf pumpkin spice creamer, greek L&F yogurt
L: leftover white chicken chili
S: budding ham packet / string cheese
D: I think DH is making italian beef tonight...I can't remember!

I finished Strange the Dreamer the other night, such a great recommendation! I will need to download the sequel but have to catch up on a few other books first!

Awesome!!
I loved it sooo much, I am so glad you liked it!
I had to immediately d/l the sequel, haha.
I thought it was written so visually, and the entire concept was just so unique and imaginative. I am always super impressed by fantasy writers who actually come up with something NEW...I mean the genre leaves a wide opening for basically unlimited subject matter--anything one can think of, but I find a lot of fantasy fiction writers tend to pull from a sort of basic set of rules in many cases...not that I don't like those too, but it's ultra refreshing to read something completely different.
I feel the same about just about anything written by Neil Gaiman most of the time. I think I read a lot compared to the majority of people so I have a large base for comparison and I find myself underwhelmed sometimes. I am always very impressed when I find books that excite me like that and I want to make everyone read them. LOL...unfortunately I don't know very many people that get as excited about books as I do.

I want to read ALL the books! Someone recommended Nalini Singh's Hunter's Guild books and I read the first one and am now hooked there as well. There's 11 in the series and a long running series just makes me happy, lol.
