I tried to play Monopoly last night with my Son and Husband but by 8pm I was exhausted and I was asleep in bed by 8:30 last night! So we left the game out on the coffee table to be continued tonight :)

It's never easy to understand why we must go through these things that hurt us so much. I prayed it seems like every waking minute for my 22 year old brother who suffered with manic depression, bipolar, and severe PTSD. He read his bible, prayed for God to save him from his suffering, he believed that God would save him. He was never cured, he suffered with his diseases from the age of 5 when some of it was diagnosed until he took his own life at 22.
God never promised us that prayer would cure us, or save us from the pain of living this life. But he does promise us if we believe in him and accept him as our savior that one day there will be no more tears, no more, pain, no more suffering and we will live in paradise with him forever.
My grandmother was one of the most God fearing women I have ever met. She praised the LORD all day long. But It did not save her from the life she had to live. She raised seven children in extreme poverty, they lived in a one room chicken shed that had been somewhat been transformed into a " house". She was married to an abusive alcoholic, and most days her and the seven kids did not have food to eat. My Dad dropped out of high school because he did not have shoes to wear to class.
Prayer did not save them in this life, but can you imagine the reward waiting for them when they got to heaven? The lived in hell on earth, suffered, and cried, were abused and forgotten but praised the LORD every day anyway. What a testament to faith and belief that even thought this life was unkind, there was freedom, salvation and peace waiting for them in heaven.
People may forget, hurt, abandon, and wrong you. But God never will.
Just sharing some of God's love, and promise with you. In no way and I trying to impugn anyone beliefs or religion. But as a Christian I just get excited about sharing God's promise of Love, salvation, peace, and life everlasting.
Sending honest, heartfelt best wishes to you

One of my favorite WLS friendly places is Taco Bell. They have lots of stuff and they will make it how ever you want it. I have asked for two tacos without a shell and they put the taco fillings in a bowl for me! I get that and a side of pintos and cheese and a side order of the fresh tomato salsa. It's pretty fabulous! And those poor folks at McDonald's! Oh how I have tortured them with my special orders! Try ordering an egg Mc Muffin with a folded egg instead of a round egg without the muffin instead just put in it a box and sub the ham for bacon.....they do it, why they haven't told me to get lost yet I don't know :)
There is a place here in KC (won't mention name) Has a sign right by the ordering window that says something along the lines of " We don't care if you had a lap band, gastric bypass, or just don't want to eat a lot, adults can not order off the kids menu!) At first it kinda irritated me but now I laugh because the kids menu sucks there anyway. Who over the age of 12 wants a crappy hot dog or a bowl of Mac n cheese? I can microwave that at home. If I am going out I want something worth eating

Good morning :) My word for today is ACCOUNTABILITY I am going to say it to myself all day long! When that tray of crap appears in the break room, and everyone looks like they are having the best time ever eating and talking, I am going to remember I am accountable for what I eat, not them. And I have my light hot coco mix with me if the chocolate, cookies, and candy craving start to cripple my defenses.
B: Thomas 100 cal english muffin with 1/4 cup egg beaters, green onion, and 2 slices turkey bacon
S: Apple and a cheese stick
L: Salad w/ cottage cheese, and light italian dressing
S: Peanut butter dip and carrot sticks (2 T FF/Light sour cream, 2 packets splenda, 1 tsp peanut butter mix it up and yum :)
D: Potato Nachos: 1 med potato sliced thin spray with PAM baked in oven until crisp. top with vegetarian chili, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeno. Really easy dinner and it's pretty tasty too :)

I never really liked protein shakes. When I was early out I would eat cans of chicken to supplement for the shake. I would mix it with a little mustard or something like that and eat it. a small can of chicken has about 25 grams of protein in it.
early out the only shakes I ever really liked were that EAS miloplex light. They are pre made and come in chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. They are about $1.50 each so a little pricey.
I recently tried the Matrix Mint cookie and that one is really good too.

Hey girlie hang in there :)
If this was easy, we would all be supermodel skinny :)
I know how you feel, I lost my 22 year old brother to suicide when I was 7 months post op. I was always an emotional eater and I did turn to food for comfort just like before. I wish I could tell you where the strength to go on came from, but I am really not sure. I guess I just never gave up no matter how bad I messed up with my eating (and did I ever SCREW UP!) like going back to old habits. For example, Pre op at the grocery store, I would get a giant cream cheese filled croissant to eat on the way home and I started doing that AGAIN after my brother died. I would eat the giant pastry and when I got home I would feel awful, but I forgave myself and promised I would do better starting right away.
You have not failed!
Start over right now, and take control of your self and your environment! You can do this just forgive yourself right now and start fresh today. In 6 months you wont believe the change that can happen if you start fresh right now!
You are good enough to deserve this, brave enough to face this, and strong enough to fight for it!
Sending best wishes to you!!

At almost 5 years post op I could eat that no problem. The bread and veggies turn to mush in your pouch and pretty much you are left with a few thin slices of protein to break down so it's really not a huge meal. But to compare, when I go out to eat with friend or family I would get a 6 inch sub and they would get a 12 inch sub, bag of chips, and a big ol' drink and if I ate that I am pretty sure I would die...(not a bad way to go but still). How I know my pouch is not stretched? for example, last night we had BBQ pulled pork I measured out 1/2 cup of that with a little bitty ol' piece of corn bread, and I could not fini**** because the protein is so dense it fills you up without sliding out of your pouch. So when it comes to pouch capacity I still cant eat more than 1/2 cup protein or about 4oz.
So it's not always how much you can eat, but also what you are eating.

I agree with the other posters, go with the regular peanut butter. It tastes better and has less sugar. I love the Skippy natural no stir the flavor is probably the best peanut butter I have ever tasted.
As for the PB2 I love it and hate it at the same time....Hate it because its Expensive, When eating plain its grainy and a bit slimy, and flavor is off. But I love to cook and bake with it! I put it in peanut butter cookies, I make a super yummy peanut chicken sauce with it and even put it in banana bread sometimes. So in my opinion its worth a try but I recommend using it in something rather than on something.
Best wishes :)

So glad it's friday! I have a whole weekend with NOTHING planned! Woohoo!! ![]()
I love reading these posts, now I want a bathroom full of little chicks and a spicy tuna roll :)~

S: Cottage cheese with 1T apple butter and a pack of splenda
D: Going out tonight and I am getting the salad bar (because it's a pretty awesome one with all kinds of yummy things on it)

I feel fine after breakfast. I am lactose intolerant and I don't like soy milk so for me the almond milk is the best option. It's pretty good as long as it's cold. I like the Silk brand the best, but Almond Breeze is good too. The unsweetened Chocolate is fantastic only 45 calories and it makes a really yummy latte.
I have a hard time eating in the morning. I have tried many different things from eggs, to lunch meat, oatmeal, protein bar, you name it and it all makes me so nauseated because my pouch Is a big bully and likes to boss me around! I am like" here pouch how about some nutritious food full of protein and vitamins and health!" and pouch is like "ya thanks for that, now how about some stomach cramps and diarrhea just for you!" (I have too much dialog with the pouch to claim any kind of normality)
The pouch likes it's Cheerios in the morning! So I give it Cheerios it doesn't give me trouble...thats the deal we made and so far so good! We will have to wait and see if pouch keeps up it's end of the bargan....it's been known to LIE :)
I don't have any blood sugar problems and I eat about every three hours and that keeps things pretty stable.

So glad you are feeling good today Nik :)
I love those days, when you are just happy for no particular reason!
At work today but my momma is coming by and taking me to lunch so yay! We are going to Oklahoma Joe's BBQ here in Kansas City. I think I will get the BBQ Turkey and a side of baked beans.
B: Cheerios, almond milk one cup each, and a banana
S: Apple and cottage cheese
L: BBQ turkey and baked beans I might eat one slice of the bread if I feel like it, When it comes to room in the pouch for carbs the baked beans might win for space over a slice of bread :)
S: I have a cheese stick but I might still be full from lunch
D: Vegetarian tostadas with black beans and cheddar cheese, Home made salsa on top
S: Fruit ****tail with 2T Cool Whip free (I need to find the person that invented it so I can personally shake their hand!)
Wishing everyone a blessed, peaceful, and beautiful day :)

Took my son out for breakfast this am to Panera, usually I just get a coffee but I was hungry this am and my planned Cheerios and almond milk did not sound nearly as good as a panera sandwich so I scoured the menu and came across the Mediterranean egg white sandwich sounds like a reasonable choice right? So got that ate it it was really good then I got to work and looked it up on the panera website HOLY COW! 450 calories, 15 grams of fat, 47 carbs, 21 protein=11 weigh****chers points almost 1/2 of what I get in a day well guess I am eating broccoli for lunch :)
B: Panera sandwich (wasn't totally calorie destructive, but not worth it in my opinion)
S: apple and a cheese stick
L: cottage cheese and steamed broccoli
S: carrot sticks
D: Turkey sausage with peppers and onions on a sandwich thin, and a mixed green salad,
S: Fruit ****tail with Cool Whip free or cottage cheese with 1T apple butter and a pack of splenda

Today my baby boy turns 15! To think about it brings tears to my eyes. How have I been so lucky to have this beautiful, amazing, and perfect person in my life for the past 15 years? Not just to know him but to be his Mom. Wow, to say I am blessed would be like comparing the Atlantic ocean to rain puddle.
B: 1c cheerios, 1c unsweetened almond milk, banana
S: Cheese stick and an apple
l: romaine salad with cottage cheese and mustard for dressing, and mixed veggies
S: Carrot sticks, laughing cow wedge
D: Kid's Choice for his B-Day is Grand Stand Burgers. Super greasy spoon type place they have about three things on the menu and all of it is fried. But this is life and what is it if you can't celebrate a B-Day dinner? I am getting a Fried Chicken sandwich with all the veggies.
Wishing everyone a peaceful, and blessed day :)

I eat salad dressing all the time. my favorite is the Wishbone light Tuscan Italian. I don't buy fat free dressing because I don't like the taste, and you also need some fat with all of those vegetables so you can absorb the fat soluble vitamins in the food. So if I put salsa or mustard on my salad (another fav salad dressing swap), I add cheese or nuts with my lunch.
