hey dont worry bout it at all not many needles are used until u are asleep lol i was scared too lol and if they are used after they are put into ur iv so dont worry and by the way u are very pretty!

Hey Mary,
That's great that your doing all the research possible before making an informed decision. I'm 22 years old and had lap RNY 11 months ago. On the day of surgery I weighed 315 and as of this morning I weigh 183. I'm 5'11 so I would like to weigh 150-160. This has been an amazing experience for me. Hi Lap, I feel the same way lol too old for this board and too young for the main board. I am 22 years old, 5'5" 238. Haven't had surgery yet but am on my way. I'll have my first consultation with my surgeon on the 8th , I cant wait to get this rolling already. I just want to add that you look great , I can't wait to be on the losing side also.

At the pre op: They talk to you...get your vitals taken.

Im also 20 something 23 to be axact. so when axactly did you have surgery and what type did you have. im gettin ready to have mines so im preop and i should have it done sometime in august if not then early septmember i am really really really excited but now that its getting closer i am really scared now. how was the waiting period for you ?? and just a uick question what did you use for you protein in the full liquid diet phast ???? thank you take care

Hello to both of you. I am so happy that both of you all surgery was successful. I am getting RNY-Gastric bypass in early August before I return to school and I am in the process of just completing my psych evaluation and also meeting with my surgeon. My insurance is actually different from you all. My insurance requires that you have approval before even going into the office for the consult. So my question to you both is if you can explain the process that I will go through in pre-op testing? What all is done to you? And also, are a lo of needles involved? The reason that I ask you this is because I have a BIG fear of needles and I know that it may sound silly because I am getting a major surgery but I really am nervous. Thanks for all the advice and I hope that your life change continues to be a success.......

I had surgery the same day as you! Same thing too! Was yours laproscopic? I am bored too..its hard sitting around and watching everyone else enjoy food!

hey im ashley and im glad you can talk openly i just got gastric bypass and lost 18 pounds in 5 days im so excited i hope that u can get the surgery im so happy after i got it so hopefully u wont be depressed if u get becuz i was depressed to and experienced cutting also!
