Topic: RE: Sleep apnea, anyone?
I was in just as bad a shape as you are now and had to use the C-Pap. When I lost all my weight my sleep apnea was cured except I am a little borderline when I am deep REM. My doctor told me I could still use the C-Pape when I have symptoms are could go without it. You will start to get a good night's sleep.
Topic: Sleep apnea, anyone?
Yep! Me! I have severe sleep apnea. Normal Respiratory Index is 5, mine is 30.5, during regular sleep. 72 during REM sleep. I wake up 72 times per hour! My oxygen went down to 63%! They didn't wake me and put on a mask, because I didn't get to sleep until 12:30 am, and the REM occurred 2 hours later.
I am sooo very thankful that they caught this! I will be going for my machine test Thursday night. Then next week, I will meet with the equipment company and get fitted for a machine and mask. I was worried sick that I had something terrible wrong with me, because I am so fatigued all the time. Now I know.
I feel blessed that I started down the road to WLS. because this serious condition would have gone untreated. My surgeon referred me for the test,
Thank God! The good news is that if I lose to my goal weight, the condition might go away, along with my other comorbidities.

Topic: Phoenix Metro Support Group
Did you know that there is a Phoenix Metro Weight Loss Surgery Support group that is for all pre-op and post-op patients no matter who your surgeon was or will be? All surgery types welcome - RNY, Lap-Band, DS, etc. Even if you don't have your surgery date yet and are just starting out in the process - you are welcome to join!! This is a peer-led ObesityHelp Chapter support group.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Cholla branch of Phoenix Public Library (outside Metrocenter Mall). Our next meeting is this Saturday!
Face-to-face support is SOOOOO important for pre-ops, post-ops and even those at goal already. We all need support. Help yourself and help others. You can come alone or bring an adult support person with you. We have a great group. I hope you join us!!

Topic: RE: Update from yesterday
Hi Mel! Glad to hear you are feeling better today. Everyday is a new adventure, isn';t it? Well, just listen to your body, and follow the doctors orders. How have you been feeling otherwise? What made you choose this surgery in particular. I always like to hear why others chose this surgery, too.
My husband asks me every so often if I'm sorry that I have done this. My answer is NO!!!!! I don't suggest that everyone does it, but I'm really glad that I did.
How much have you lost so far? Do you have any worries or concerns? Best wishes and hope to hear about your journey even further!!!CArol
Topic: Update from yesterday
Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the haziness from yesterday subsided after I had some orange juice. It must have been low sugar because I felt great the rest of the day. I was more careful to eat enough yesterday. This morning I woke and was just fine.... I was a little freaked out I guess. A lot of changes occuring in our bodies at this stage, I just have to figure out how to pinpoint just what they are
Have a good day, Mel

Topic: Everything seems hazy....
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has experienced their vision looking white, hazy and their ears ringing. Especially when I get up this happens. Is this a sign that I am not eating enough or dehydrated? It is really unsettling because up until this, I have had no other issues with my recovery. Out three weeks tomorow. If anyone knows what this is I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks, Mel
