Hi,
So far, I have two others that may want to meet. PWC was not too cooperative so I may have us meet at the Ravens Nest. A friend is looking into the Lap Band so not sure how that is going to go for her. PM me with your email and phone number and I will keep in touch.
Did you ever get any responses? I will be having RNY on 3/26 and I have a friend that had Band a few years ago who needs some support. His Dr. quit performing WLS right after he had it done. Anyway, I live right in that area. I used to belong to PWC but since I wasn't going anymore I stopped my membership. Let me know because the support groups my Dr. has told me about are in Reston or Herndon.
Thanks,

Hi - Just getting ready for my surgery March 12th. I have everything lined up for help around the house, meals (phase I, II, III) and have a great surgeon. My question is what kind of pain should I expect post surgery? How long did it take for holes to heal in belly? Thanks
you will have to find a protein without any artificial sweetener, but you may be able to get you protein from meat and fish after a few weeks
you will be able to drink water , herb tea, soup, juices
It is best if you go to a wls surgeon that will work with your neurosurgeon, maybe also a hematologist
most doctors what you to wait till after they see you at the post surgery checkup ( after 1-2 weeks)you probably can take a bath
but it would be best to call your doctor first
Weight loss surgery is a tool. An effective tool but how you use that tool is what matters. Take advantage of the support and advice of many OH members who have had the same concerns. You can do this!

I haven't dealt with your situation as I'm waiting for my VSG surgery next week. Sounds like you have a good physician who's anxious to see you get through this. The PICC line is the optimal way to administer the parenteral nutrition which you need to help sustain your nutritional needs. Keep that vision of how good you're going to feel in the end. Good luck.
