I just ate one of those cottage cheese doublers..100 calories...However, Im not sure if it was ok. I thought just like yogurt we couldnt eat it with any fruit mixed in..or was that during the full liquid or mushy stage?

I took a prilosec before I ate...so I hope the pineapple part of it doesnt bother me.

I could be wrong but I think the reason for not having yogurt/cottage cheese with the fruit is because of the sugars in them other wise I think it is OK being that it is somewhat pureed fruit.I'm not sure what the sugar content is in those particular cottage cheese doublers.

I avoid those because of the added sugar. You can also add sf preserves/jam to plain cottage cheese if you like the taste. I've done that with greek yogurt.

That's exactly what I do, I add SF jam to the cottage cheese and it's pretty good that way.  I normally make that my snack for the day.

I'm 3 weeks out and had a 1/4 c of cottage cheese for dinner and put on a 1/2 t of french dressing.  I use to eat lettuce, cottage cheese and french dressing.  It was so delicious!

obviously, I'm not eating lettuce.....but I tell you what, I sure do dream about it!  LOL!       Also,  I was told no pineapple for a long time, it's too fiberous.

Depends on what you are asking here.  If you asking if the fruit part would be okay for your healing tummy...probably.  If you are asking if this is a good food choice...it's not so bad.  Alittle high on the carb to protein ratio, but otherwise there could be worse things.  I don't like cottage cheese, but I would say that adding some preserves like the other posters said doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Thats what I needed to know...if the little bit of pineapple (pureed) would upset my stomach. It was something I had sitting in the fridge and I wanted a quick breakfast. I do usually eat cottage cheese for lunch sometimes...and bring a sugar free jello to add to it. I bought the s/f preserves too. Havent used it yet.

Otherwise Im pretty careful about the sugar content cause I use sweet and low even in my greek yogurt...if not a little piece of banana. Just wanted to eat something different this morning...On the weekend when I have more time, I will make a soft boiled egg or egg whites.

For lunch I brought one of those pre measured tuna fish...and some F/F mayo.

Thanks for your help!!
