looking for friends and support

Hey everyone I am almost 7 months post op and having some trouble. I have been at a stall for about 2 months and I know this is just something I have to go through. I will say that I was discouraged and fell back into old habits and not good food choices. Even though I can not eat as much as i used to I know that my food choices has not helped me.

I will not dwell and just start fresh! I do think that my absence from the OH community has hindered my loss. The people around me are supportive as much as they can be but you need that support from those that are going through similar situations.

I am looking for new friends and support. I also will be starting a vlog hoping to hold myself accountable and also will begin bloggin more often. I would like your input and more than anything your support. I promise to support you as well, my family!

Thanks so much!

I am almost 7 months out as well. As I got closer to 200, my weight loss slowed considerably, but it looks like since I broke that barrier all is well again. I have found that when the weight loss slows down or if you are in a stall, it is always good to go back to the beginning. The blog is an excellent idea - my journaling has really helped me keep track of how I am doing, what my triggers are, and my emotions along the way. Also, if you aren't keeping a food log, I would recommend that as well. I was once in an all day meeting and they ordered in food. I ordered a BLT, since at home that is a safe meal (abut 200 calories). Well, when I went home and looked up the BLT from jason's Deli, I found out it was 1100 calories for just the sandwich. If I didn't track, I would have kept thinking it was okay to eat.

I have been very lucky in my journey so far. I have not had a stall. I have had slow weeks and fast weeks but the weight continues to go down. My plan is very different than most though so it is hard to give you advice on what to do. I did hear a bunch of folks say they did a five day liquid diet to start over and get back on track. I think you can google it under the 5 day pouch test. Two months is too long for a stall. Look at both your calories and your activities and I am certain you will find the right mix to start losing again.

If you need help along the way, please let me know. I will try to kelp where I can.

 Thanks Lori

I used to track my food and journal on the tracker and with time that is one thing that I stopped. That is on my list. I will def look into that pouch test. TY again!

I haven't had my surgery yet, it's a week from tomorrow, but are you getting all your water in?  Are you walking? Just a little more everyday will do alot! :)  Good luck!

I'm pretty much in the same boat.  8 months post op, hadn't lost a pound in a while but was OK with it because I started lifting weights.  After advice from my surgeon assistant I have actually increased my caloric and protein intake (to build muscle, doing a pretty hardcore building weightlifting program right now).  I dropped 5 pounds in a couple of days, will check in again in the morning to see if I've lost more.

I've also began making some not great food and drink decisions, the food log will definitely help you reign that in.  I use myfitnesspal.com, it helps keep my mind focused on the decisions I need to make.

My username is rcwickersham on myfitnesspal.com, be glad to share food/exercise diary.  Keep it up, don't get discouraged, and get back on the straight and narrow :).
