Puree Ideas
I go for my 2 week post-up check on Tuesday. At that point, I should be switched from full liquids to pureed foods. Yay me!!! LOL Who would ahve thught getting to eat mush would be this exciting??
As I prepare my grocery list for the coming week, I am wondering what foods would be good in this stage. Those who have been there, do you have any tips on good pureed foods? I can hardly wait to get back to cooking, but I want to cook in a healthy way.

There're lots of pureed options----ff refried beans, yogurt, pureed soups, etc.
But if you want to get a little more adventuresome...get a few ice cube trays. You can take leftovers from your family dinners this/next week and puree them and freeze in the trays. For example, I did allot of chicken pureed in chick stock; same with beef in beef stock. You can puree some veggies in stock also and freeze. Good is not necessarily the word I would use but it beats baby food!!!!!

Two thoughts----I have to stay away from fast food places unless I'm getting a coffee only. I did lots of Wendy's Chili in Taco Salads pre surgery. Not a good choice for me. But that's just me. Don't have the hubby to go pick it up!!
More importantly---my shrink said to me Are you going to let others cook for you or are you going to be in control of your food? Are you going to change what you eat or just eat less of what you've been consuming? From day one, I've taken that pretty much to heart cooking healthy and changing the types of food I eat along with the volume. That's not to say I don't ever go to a restaurant but I've limited it.

Congrats on almost reaching the two week mark. I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm experimenting with recipes and things in advance. Someone posted a recipe for a mushie meal that I've tried and found pretty good.
1/2 part skim ricotta cheese
2-3 Tablespoon of meatless pizza sauce
1-2 tablespoon of Mozzarella or Parmeasan cheese
Nuke in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Nice change from all the other meals. I've found it pretty good.

I lived off of that ricotta bake recipe, soups, greek yogurt. You could also try chicken/tuna salad well processed (food processor or magic bullet). Tuna sat better with my sleeve initially, but now chicken is ok as well.
I avoided fast food and didn't do Wendy's chili or FF beans or anything. I was too terrified of triggering old habits (and of bean carbs...silly I know, but it was better for me to be super strict).
Take things slow, eat slowwwwwww and little bites at a time. Good luck!
