Can I brag on my hubby? A little different kinda post...

As some of you know, my husband does the cooking. I don't like it and it's really not something I'm all that good at. I CAN cook, but well... even the kids complain. LOL

I've been struggling with broth the past few days. It's the only thing that isn't sweet that I can have basically on clear liquids at this point. I am just not a fan of it. I've managed to take a spoonful or two lately but I just can't make myself drink it.

Until tonight... tonight my hubby made up his own broth for me. He used half chicken and half mushroom broth and added tomatoes, onions and brocolli and spiced it with ginger, garlic and mustard. I strained off the broth and OMG. It was AMAZING. I ate a whole bowl! He served it as soup and made grilled cheese for him and the kids. It was so nice to feel part of the family and not the weird one eating something different for a night.

So, that's my hubby. He's been amazing through this whole thing, but tonight... well, he rocked!

Your husband sounds like a keeper!

I didn't like the canned or carton chicken or beef broth.  But, what tasted good to me was warming up a can of plain old Campbells Chicken Noodle and straining it.

I thought of this, but I can be frugal over the weirdest things and soup is expensive... LOL. I know, crazy. Plus I'm always watching my sodium intake.

And yes, he's a keeper :)

WE are lucky to have great guys!  My hubby who doesn't mind cooking, but prefers mine, bought about every flavor of soup that is strainable and has been working that strainer like a champ!  He's measuring everything to the exact line on the measuring cup, being my vitamin cop, protein police, and running the household while I'm recovering.  Love him to pieces!
We're sooooo lucky!  Makes healing so much easier.
