Question on Blood Work?

Realized that most surgeons have thier own method of madness of post-op checkups but was curious how many of them do blood work...and when?

My doc hasn't requested any blood work yet during my post-op. Do they only do it if they have a good reason?

Pre-op panel done by the hospital; doc does 2 months, 6 months and a year.  Then I think annually.  But I'm gonna ask for some testing at 9 months because of concerns I have about my iron and protein levels. And I'll want panels done semi-annually.  Too much can go wrong in a year.
