The VSG honeymoon is over

I've been very discouraged for the last month.  I've only lost 6 pounds in 6 weeks and I think I'm gonna be a size 18 for the rest of my life.  It's better than a 26 but really, was this worth $25,000 out of my pocket?  I'm just feeling down in the dumps tonight, I know that I can still lose weight and that 6 pounds is OK, but when my BodyBugg is telling me that I burn about 1300 calories more every day than I consume, and that I should be losing 2.5 pounds a week minimum, it kind of sucks, especially when it then tells me that I am obviously underestimating my calories.   Um, sure, maybe I'm off by a couple hundred calories, but 1000 a day?  F you BodyBugg!  Thanks for reading, I just needed to vent and clear my mind - things will get better tomorrow.  Why doesn't this surgery come with a free lobotomy too?  It would be soooooo much simpler!

I'm not trying to be unsupportive, but the reviews I've read suggest that the bodybugg isn't nearly as accurate as the manufacturer states. That's why I never bought one for myself.

Rather than trying to let the bodybugg determine your caloric intake (more exercise equals more food?), I'd suggest go back to accurately counting your calories and making sure they stay at what your surgeon suggested (like 1000-1200).

Remember, this is temporary, just refocus and you can do it!

OK...... this may not be a popular response.....

I'm all for the BodyBug thing and Dunk Tanks....... after you have lost the weight and your settling into your "Spot".

My suggestion......put the BodyBug dealio on the shelf..... make it easy on yourself.....don't over think it.

Follow this most popular VSG WL program and you will lose weight.

- 600-800 cals

- 70grams or more protein (women)

- 40grams or less carbs

- 64oz. or more fluids

- Walk 45 minutes (more exercise=better)

During my WL period I thought I had found a better way several times.....only to find getting back to these basics was the most effective.

Others have had great success doing other things.....but I think you will find most that followed this plan did quite well.

Just puttin it out there.....tryin to help...

Yep, what he said.

Slap the bodybug in a drawer, log your food, keep working out, push clear fluids, and really evaluate what you are eating not just calories, but look at carbs, and protein and see if you can tweak those numbers.

Your honeymoon period is not going to be set on a timeline. There's plenty of people here that have continued to lose well past the 6-12 months post-op point.

Agree with Frisco. Definitely need to make sure you get in enough physical activity to help break a stall. Hang in there and the weight will come off. At least you are still losing and congrats on your weight loss so far.

After I hit my 6 month honey moon stage I stalled for 2 months going from 180 to 182 did this for 2 months. I kept exercising and eating right. Than my body started to loose again i am 171 to 173 each day now. You just have to push threw this. You can do it.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.
