So I am a nervous wreck right now....from all the negative feedback I have gotten from some people to the doctors not agreeing on me having the surgery I am questioning if I am making the right decision.  I get my surgery time in an hour and 45 min for tomorrow morning.

I am not your typical VSG patient....I am 5'5 and 225 lbs

Yes I am doing it to be thin!  But I am also doing it for my health and my children and my sanity!   there is so much so many reasons as to why I am doing it.

Just remember lightweights usually lose slower. I was 198 lbs and 5'4". I have lost almost 40 lbs. It has been slow but worth it. Good luck.

I wish the surgery had been available when I was 225 pounds.  I suspect I would have avoided diabetes and hypertension and a bunch of other irritating (although not life-threatening) conditions.  Best of luck to you!

Its your choice. to hell with the nay sayers. Its ellective surgery for most of us, thats why we have so many struggles to get it paid for. Society made the so called "normal" ranges and if your unhappy and there is a tool that will help you who cares if people knock you. Do like I'm doing, tell only those who NEED to know.

Embrace your decision.

It's time you stop trying to please anyone but yourself. This is your life and you don't need approval from anyone to live it. Stop looking to others.

I'm 5'5" and had to GAIN weight to meet the minimum BMI of 35. Surgery weight was 200. Go for it.
