"Pet therapy"! Omgosh, he was just adorable, this little white ball of fur! He even gave me a couple kisses :) They took him away too soon - I could have fussed over him for a half hour!

One of the hospitals where I work has pet therapy dogs who come visit.  It's good for the patients AND the employees.  Dogs brighten everyone's day.  One girl who works there sometimes has a Pomeranian who is a registered therapy dog.  She brings him to work with her and it makes the day better.  He has his own badge and everything.

What kind of drugs do they have you on??? seeing puppies??? Just kidding!! I have an almost-2-yr-old St. Bernard that I want to train to be a therapy dog. It is so rewarding for the patients!

I hope you continue to recover well!

I like the idea too--I wish I could take my Burmese cat in to see visitors (Burmese love everyone!) but everywhere I've asked says dogs only. I do not get it. A lot of people would like to get purr therappy, I'm sure!

That's why I don't understand--sure, some cats aren't controllable, but so are some dogs! My cats go to shows and ride in the care all the time, and get handled by all kinds of people, and are well behaved. They are even used to getting a bath before shows, and getting their nails clipped. My big red kitty even wears a harness and leash!
Either way, I like the idea of visiting animals.
