My husband and I were sleeved on 8/1.

He "comfortably" eats about 6 times as much as I do.

Today me: Breakfast - 1/2 a protien shake, 1/8 cup whole milk in my coffee, Lunch -  2 tbs cottage cheese,Dinner -  2oz moist white fish, 2 tbs skinless-steamed yellow squa****sp mashed potatoes (just couldn't do anymore for dinner) and plenty of water, g2 and green tea.

Today him: Breakfast - 2 cups of smoothie with protein powder, Lunch - 2.5 serving of tomato basil soup, Snack - 15 olives, Dinner - 3.5 oz of breaded fish, 1/4 cup of steamed skinless yellow squash, 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes, 2 small pieces of watermelon

Is something wrong with me or him?

Thanks

How long did it take him to eat his dinner!! Even now, I would have to spread that amount of food over at least 2-3 hours.

There's no way I could have eaten that at 3 weeks out - even just the 3.5 oz breaded fish would have been way too much.

Maybe he had a bigger bougie size?

Sounds like you are doing just fine - it's him i'd be concerned about.

He finished his BEFORE me! Not even a little discomfort. The surgeon said we were both the same size because I asked him days after the surgery. My husband was able to drink/eat 1/2 a bowl of broth while I was limited to a few spoonfuls.

I wonder if it's a "guy" thing?
I hope he doesn't get a leak or something because of what he's eating.

Famous words for a VSG'r - just because you CAN eat it, doesn't mean you should. If he has a plan, and that's what the doc suggested, then its all good.

But at 3 weeks out, i'd be focusing on protein really and skiping the mash potatoes and squash at that point. Even at 10 weeks now, I usually only have 2 oz of meat for a meal with no sides or anything. Seems crazy to me that he can eat that much.

Your husband's stomach may be longer than yours.  Longer stomach = more ounce allowance.

so I'm normal...he's not!

He MUST have a longer stomach. He looks like he's fine. He doesn't have any discomfort or pain except once in a while after eating. He is still losing weight. No nausea, etc.

Oh well. (sigh) At least I FEEL full.

Well what a great idea to be sleeved together!!!!! How "fun"

But your hubby's eating concerns me a little. It reminds me of those who could shovel food in. Is he taking his time eating all that? Even if he CAN eat more.. its the speed of it that concerns me. Remember we have baby then toddler tummies..you would not want a baby to eat like that..would ya? lol

His metabolism may be different but his tummy is not.

Keep us posted..does he eliminate as fast too? Just saying...

Continued good recovery my new OH friend!

Well... I can tell you that my hubby who was sleeved 2 1/2 months ago can eat just as much as me and I am 11 months out.  I think we are all different. He may have a longer stomach, he may not be as swollen, he may be pushing it more than you.  I say he is doing fine and so are you.

I'm positive we did not have the same surgery..........

You both eat way to much for 3 weeks out.........

Your husband eats about 2-3 times more than I do at 22 months......I maybe could eat the 3.5oz of fish...but the other stuff......not even a chance. It hurts me to even think about it.

I remember being 6 weeks out eating a half of a scrambled egg......

I would have a few questions for your surgoen......Tell him what your both eating...let him make the judgement. Ask him what your Bougie size is....Sounds like your in the high 40's maybe 50
