I got it too and asked nutritionist and she sd she never heard of that. But I knew it had to be because of surgery cuz I've never had thrush before, but I did have the nystatin left from when my baby had it.

Well if it is..I am so sorry.

Someone here suggested that I may have it first week home, but turns out it was my vanilla protein milk drink coating my tongue. No matter how much I brushed I could not get it off..****il I started soups). It affected everything I tried to eat as horrible..

Hope yours is NOT thrush hon.

Gentle Hugs, Jan

they gave me antibiotics before they gave me my first dose of pain meds right after surgery. its so you dont catch any hospital acquired infections and they hung mine so soon cause i was running fever after surgery and i had a yeast infection between my "fat rolls' and my legs.

I got it too, my mouth was so dry and gummy from dehydration and only sweet juice and pudding etc for diet in the hospital.

My tongue hurt so much, so tender and sore and coated with white.  OWIE.

I was very diligent about brushing and oral care, plus rinsing with sal****er.  I was on antibiotics coming home too....so i think I was lucky that I didn't need additional treatment.

Take care!

This brings back bad memories...it bothered me more than the surgery. The mouth wash didn't work very well for me and they had to give me a pill too...sorry, can't remember the name but it worked much better than the mouth rinse.

Take care,
Cathy
