It refers to foods that go down easily but aren't neccesarily good for you ie: cheetos, doritos, ice cream. All the things that we all love and that made us what we are today.

ANY FOOD can be a "slider"  given enough creams, sauces, how its made, whatcha put in it.

Usually IT IS...hi caloric NON nutritious/nutrient dense foods that take alot to fill ya up.

The word slider comin from White Castles teeny tiny hamburgers called SLYDERS they sold for cheap...(I saw them in the frozen food section at the grocery store!) ...makin a comeback as a party food/appetizer.  Anyhoo...would take a alot of em to fill ya up....

so we call foods like that sliders.

worst slider offenders in my diet:  veggies in cheese sauce, ceviche, popcorn, salad, cremed spinach! Takes ALOT of it fill me!

For me, its even foods that are theoretically good for me, but they dont stay in my stomach long, and therefore arent optimum choices, like cottage cheese, yogurt, greek yogurt, puddings, stuff like that.

For me, soupy things definitely slide thru. When I make chili, I make it essentially meat with a bit of tomato paste, not soupy.

As for Weetabix, after it sits in milk and gets mushy, it would be a slider for me, but on the program I was given for post op diet, even 1 weetabix chunk would be more than my alloted carbs, for the day during my losing phase, so it wasnt ever even a choice of mine.

You dont *have* to do anything, friend, but if you arent losing weight how you would like, and if you arent staying full, you have some good places to consider paring back or doing exchanges!
