I agree! I have tried Miralax, Magnesium, Stool Softeners...one strong, hot cup of coffee first thing in the morning...and voila! I go almost every day, at least 5x per week. Before, I was lucky if I went twice a week.

I use the same regimen of fiber and miralax. I usually drink click coffee protein or regular coffee if things are very bad. My surgeon says caffeine and walking simulates the bowels. It works for me!

Milk of magnesia will clean you out to get things working again.  The other suggestions may help everything else get a little more reqular.

Perhaps you aren't taking enough of them.

I take 1 tablespoon of fiber in my protein drink every morning and either 2 or 3 colace daily, alternating. That's what it has taken for me to be regular.  Maybe you need to increase something.

I am 6 months out, too, and have the same problem.   I went for my 6 mo checkup today and they said more veggies would help, but I am eating all I can with just the protein for now.   I laid off string cheese for a week thinking that could help - nope!
I have a stool softner they gave me when I was discharged following VSG surgery, and I take it occasionally.
Coffee and walking don't help me - I drink a mug of coffee and then walk 2 miles every morning...
I hate to rely on anything artificial because I know you can become dependent on it.
I should have persued the comment more today at the Dr. office I guess...
Good luck!
