I rinse it really well (to get the bitterness out) and then just boilt it like I do oatmeal or rice. There's a grain mix that Trader Joe's sells that's AMAZING. Quinoa, red quinoa, baby garbonzo beans, israeli cous cous and some others I'm not remembering. It's super delicious. I like to use it in place of rice or noodles, especially in beef stroganoff (/swedish meatballs)

The sauce is:

Cream of mushroom soup
Cream of chicken soup
a little milk (I eyeball it to get to the consistency I want)
garlic powder (or crushed fresh)
pepper
salt
onion powder (or minced fresh)
a little horseradish
a splash of worchestire sauce

-- after combined and heated through (either in crock for a few hours or on the stove) I stir in sour cream.

use your favorite meatball recipe to go with this, or sliced (sauteed) steak or just crumbled ground beef. YUM!!

Sorry.. I do do measurements, just eyeball it and add seasonings to taste.

I think I personally am keeping Jack Links in business, I have developed a passion for beef jerky LOL but I still get most of my protein from shakes, I take in two a day.

Extra lean ground turkey - 4 0z = 120 cal, 27g protein.

2 oz for meals is perfect with a good amount of protein.

I love grilled chicken breast marinated several types of ways, haven't had the surgery yet so I don't know how much you can eat of that anymore.
