Has anyone here from Ontario, Canada had vsg?

I've done a bit of research on the different types of WLS. My preference is to have VSG. In Ontario, VSG and Gastric Bypass are covered by OHIP.

The orientation seminar only discussed Gastric Bypass. There was no discussion of VSG.

I haven't met with the surgeon yet. I have not got an appointment with him yet either (waiting patiently). I am hoping someone reading the message boards here could tell me if they have had VSG in Canada, and if so, who was the surgeon. And if they did, it was performed by Dr. Starr?

Nope no sleeve is covered by ohip! I am going to dr Oritz in mexico as a self pay! Good luck and keep me posted!

Yes it is. They're are lots of people that have had a vsg. Come to the Ontario board

Wow. Good luck going to Mexico for your surgery. Hope it works out well. How did you find this surgeon and when do you leave?

I recently had the sleeve surgery at Toronto Western Hospital and my surgeon was Dr. T. Penner.

Wow I didn't know you could get it done in Canada under ohip:-0 my surgeon was on oprah and I researched him, spoke to a lady that lives in town here that works at the hospital she had it done, she said he was amazing and has lost over 100 pounds in 6 months she's absolutely beautiful . If you need any info just look up( google) dr Oritz on oprah it it show up. Good luck and I am thrilled that you can get the surgery in Toronto yahooooo

leave Jan 8 surgery is the 9th making it into a mini vacation when it's -40 here lol
