Two things in common... we're sleeve sisters and we're both addicted! The power was out at work one day and I was going crazy not being able to access the site! I keep cutting and pasting from this site so I can go back and look at important information.

I have my preop on Thurs! Did you do any shopping for what you need when you come back from the hospital?

I have purchased some swanson's chicken and beef broth,  I have all my vitamins (chewable) I dont know if I will need liquid so thats one of my questions for my doctor. I also have chocolate super advanced whey protein 1 scoop is  52 grams of protein. I am waiting maybe until the weekend to get like jello and popcicles and stuff like that.
What about you? Do you have some suggestions that you picked up from here? I am open to all advice!

I have a suggestion.

First of all, make sure you have a strainer.

Then get some chicken noodle soup. I got Campbell's brand. You will have to strain the noodles and meat and only drink the broth, but I didn't realize how bland plain broth is and if you get it from an actual can of soup, it has a lot more flavor.

Good Luck and Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!

That's an awesome suggestion! So we can get different types of broth type soups and do this? Ohhh that sounds SOOO much better than the regular broth. Right before I decided on surgery I tried to put myself on a liquid diet and said "I'm never eating again" and I tried to drink broth and I couldn't even stand the smell.

Can we put seasoning or hot sauce in it or anything? I wonder if that would burn our tummy since it's healing...

Oh, i found the "mexican" flavor that the person was talking about...

I was told I could have anything in the way of spices as long as I could tollerate and as long as it went through the strainer. Just start in moderation in case it doesn't agree with you. Also, find a protein drink you like that will mix with water. Some people (including myself) say that milk, even 2%, feels very heavy in your new stomach so you may or may not like milky protein drinks. Here's my suggestion on that.

Nectar fuzzy navel is my favorite. I mix different nectar flavors with water or with crystal lite. Click on this link and you can call them to order the variety pack. It's $13 and they will send you 13 flavors. Most of them mix with water and a few mix with milk. Once you find one you like, you can order it a little cheaper at vitamin shop.

Best pre-made broth that I ever tasted = Imagine, Organic Free Range Chicken Broth.

I didn't need to add anything.  It is at Whole Foods and the organic section of a regular grocery store. I'll never use another broth- even for cooking.

I would boil a chicken with some veggies and make my own broth.  Strain it, refrigerate it and skim all the fat off the top and take it easy on the salt....but that should taste much better than canned broth.  Just a thought.

Thanks I will try to do that! I use Tony Cachere's creole seasoning. Is this ok?
