Now sure which drinks you are talking about, but here is a link to a thread I posted recently about getting Nectars to be the right consistency:

http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/VSG/4504138/Nectar-drinkers-help-please/action,replies/topic_id,4504138/page,2/

Apparently I accidentally bookmarked the second page of the thread, but you should be able to maneuver around this Hope this helps!

I wasn't allowed to have any protien drinks until 7 days out..
Maybe you will like them better a little later.
Glad your surgery went well.

Also, I know there's controversy, but I find them easier to drink with a straw.. I haven't decided yet if I will use a straw or not post-op but it's one option... and other ppl said even if u put a lid on ur cup, it helps the smell not to be right in ur face... good luck :-) I'm sure with trial and error u'll find sumthing that works!

The blender ball shakers work well with the milkier powers but I hate them with the fruit drinks like Protidiet pineapple protein powder as I don't like a foamy head on it and mixing it with a fork and pouring over ice cubes gives me a nice refreshing drink that is clear yellow qith no foaminess. I also like Bariwise teas.

I don't like the foamy drinks and everything I've tried with milk is foamy so I just started using water.  Immediately after using the blender ball it has a few bubbles but they quickly disappear.  And mixing it with water sounds gross but it tastes yummy.  I use the GNC Pro Performance AMP Wheybolic Extreme 60 powder.

A hint someone gave me...was mix it in a shaker with a mixer ball then set it in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes and let the foam settle.  It really helped!  Just don't let it set for hours or overnight (don't know why that's just what I was told).

If you are using a blender or one of those small individual blender cups aand oooor ice it will make that big heavy head.

I mix my Nectar with a fork let it sit about 5 min gently stir and there is no foam and no big head.

a belender ball bottle aaalso works well for shakes besides the nectar
Good luck

I use a small battery powered mixer like the one at Amazon (link below).  Works will for me.
