Back to all liquid diet at 6 weeks
Well, my progression to soft foods went so poorly (tons of nausea and vomiting) and despite my attempts at behavior modification (chewing and chewing and chewing, slowly eating, weighing to make sure I never went over 2 oz of food) nothing helped.
So doc will still not give me any more anti-nausea medicine because he doesn't think it will help me. He told me that 4-5 days of going back on all liquids (which I had no trouble with those 1st 3 weeks) might give my stomach a chance to settle back down and try once again to progress to soft foods.
So it's a set-back but not a major one . . .

I was eating things that were successful the first few days like scrambled egg or meatloaf (steamed) or canned chicken & tuna - I had never progressed to actual pieces of meat like pot roast or braised chicken . . . I was told anything that was fork tender and to only eat 2-3 oz.
Maybe my concept of when I was full was off-kilter but I stopped at the slightest signal

not spicy at all - My NUT had so strongly encouraged/pushed us all in our post-op class to get off protein drinks as soon as possible and to get our protein only from food that it never occured to me to eat only one spoonful
the nurse I just talked to told me to take much more time moving toward getting the bulk of my protein from food
