Be it as it may, maybe a bit naive... Are there any recommendations about how long to wait before one can have s_x. I really do not want to offend. I am looking for an honest answer from your experiences Please!

1)  Never heard of it as "candle dipping" before!

2)  Not offensive, and you can spell out the work "sex".

3)  I'd go with the "cardio" recommendation set by your surgeon.  Not to get into the details, but if the surgeon says you shouldn't pick up heavy things (by using your ab muscles) for six weeks, then I'd avoid specific acts which might use those same muscles.  Of course, more 'passive' activities you can probably do right away.

If in doubt, ask your surgeon or surgeon's office.  They get this question a lot.

Good luck.

I would think it depends on how you're healing. I plan to just ask my doctor. I'm sure he's heard way more offensive things that involve gerbils and electroshock... Lol

Female here so not sure if my answer helps.  I would have been fine 10-12 days out (passive isn't in my nature) but then I pulled something so it was 3 weeks for me.  Much to my husbands chagrine.  He said it was like having a baby with no cute baby.  Of course there are "other" things that can be done if you aren't ready for the actual act itself, depending on how accomodating your partner is.

Check with your doctor, most seem to say "when you feel like it"

"Candle dipping".  I LOVE IT!!!!

I had no complications so hubby and I really didn't wait all that long if I can recall - a week or so maybe?

My doctor did not put any restrictions on this at all.  He told me to wait until I was out of the hospital, but other than that, do what feels good, stop if something hurts.  You might want to talk to your partner about being the more active one for a few weeks or choose activities that do not require to much strain on the abdominal muscles, other than that, life is good.
