My doc's instructions said to use Slim-Fast drinks or bars.  I can substitute other protein drinks, and got an Atkins drink that really was disgusting.  I've also found that the drinks make me queasy.

What do y'all suggest, since I can try other things?  The Slim Fast French Vanilla tastes okay, but too much and I get queasy.  The Atkins Wild Berry was awful.  I forced myself to drink two and that was it.

I don't know if we'll ever find a protein drink that thrills us or is delicious and exciting, but Glucerna works for me.  For me, strawberry is the best, followed by vanilla.  It's high in protein and balanced for diabetic blood sugar considerations, which is great even if you're not diabetic.  Give it a shot if you haven't already.

My late mother-in-law was diabetic and loved strawberry Glucerna.  I'm worried about too much artificial sweetener because it makes me queasy and headachey, but I might give it a try. Thanks!

I know what you're saying about the artificial sweetener!!  What is up with that?!  If it was half as sweet, it would be twice as good as far as I'm concerned!!  I've never had a protein drink that wasn't way oversweetened.  If anybody else knows of one, I'd love to hear about it!!

I bought powders. Now I can adjust the sweetness by adding more milk or water. We'll see how that goes.

I am using the matrix powders and mixing with unsweetened almond milk.

Thanks. Is the Almond Milk preferable to cow's milk or do you just prefer it?

It is preferrable because of the low carbs and fat. I like it but not everyone does.

Thanks.  The woman at the store recommended it, too.

I'm drinking Unjury shakes with skim milk or almond milk.
